Daniel J. Vogt, president of DJV Consulting has been chosen to work with the Little Falls City Council in evaluating city policies, staffing needs and finding an administrator for the city.
Vogt, a retired city administrator who served the city of Brainerd for 23 years, recently launched his own consulting business.
When interviewed, he proposed working 20 hours a week in the city and attending the Monday meetings at a cost of $50 per hour.
On Monday, the Council approved an agreement with Vogt approving the $50 per hour for administration services.
The city shall also reimburse him for out-of-pocket expenses, including, but not limited to, mileage (excluding miles driven from his home to city hall).
Vogt is considered an independent contractor in the agreement. As such he is not an employee of the city and is not entitled to the benefits provided by the city to its employees.
Vogt and his wife, Carol, have two sons, Lauren and Justin. They live in Brainerd.
He said, “I am excited about the challenge and am looking forward to working with the city employees and the council.”
Vogt was interviewed as was Bob Dures Aug. 15. At that time, the Council chose to wait until its regularly scheduled meeting to make a decision.
Vogt will begin his temporary position Monday.
