Fake travelers checks circulated in Pierz

The Pierz Police Department is investigating several cases of  fake American Express travelers checks being passed in businesses around the Pierz area.

“To the eye they appear very real,” said Pierz Police Chief Eric Hanneken. “However they are all fraud.  If you as a business owner come across one please ask for identification of the person requesting to cash it and get a vehicle description that subjects are traveling in.”
