Girls Tennis: Pierz sweeps doubles competition to defeat Parkers Prairie, falls to 10th-ranked Osakis

Pierz swept the doubles action to clip Parkers Prairie 4-3 before falling 7-0 to 10th-ranked Osakis at Monday’s Osakis tri.

The Pioneers were not challenged in any of the three doubles matches, dropping only 10 games.

Seniors Becca Froelich and Abby Bujalski turned in the most dominating performance at No. 1 doubles, blasting their foes 6-2, 6-0.

Junior Stephanie Brill and sophomore Shelbie Boser won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles and senior Morgan Waytashek and sophomore Nikki Hoheisel added a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at No. 3 doubles.

Sophomore Kelsey Moulzolf provided Pierz with the singles win it needed, topping her opponent 6-3, 6-3 at fourth singles to give the Pioneers the team win.

Pierz hosts Mora, Wednesday at 10 a.m.
