Volleyball: Upsala slams Onamia in straight sets in opener

The Upsala volleyball team picked up where it left off following a 29-3 season a year ago, pounding host Onamia, 25-22, 25-16, 25-18 in Tuesday’s season opener.

Senior Tracy Herzog posted a team-high 12 kills to lead the Cardinals while also recording 10 block assists and three solo blocks.

Sophomore Danica Cheney led the Cardinals in set assists (11) and digs (9), with senior Aimee Pelzer slamming six kills to go with nine set assists and seven digs.

Senior MaKenna Peterson added five kills, six digs and four block assists.

Upsala travels to Holdingford, Thursday.
