The Little Falls football team enters its second season in the Granite Ridge Conference (GRC) this fall after tying for fourth place a year ago.
The Flyers will try to improve on that position this year while going up against a challenging schedule, with Zimmerman, Foley and Becker among the top returning contenders, as well as GRC newcomer Albany.
Little Falls brings back six starters from a year ago, including seniors Spencer Fenske (quarterback), Collin Eckman (wide receiver), Jordan Petrone (running back/linebacker), Austin Bjorge (tight end/defensive back) and Collin Gradin (tight end/defensive end) and junior Trysten Ross (linebacker).
New athletes expected to see more varsity action are senior Seth Wester (offensive line), juniors Tom Tabitt (offensive line) and Jalen Wuchko (running back/linebacker) and sophomores Bryce Zawatzke (linebacker) and Brighton Goodrich (running back/defensive back).
Graduating last season were Michael Anderson, Brandon Zapzalka, Jake Lambrecht, Matt Valentine and Grant Bell.
Little Falls was scheduled to host Hutchinson, Friday, in its season opener.
This week, the Flyers begin GRC action with a road game at St. Cloud Cathedral, Friday.
