George Marsolek, a resident of Little Falls, passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Central Minnesota Senior Care in Little Falls.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 1 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father Jerry Nordick officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may gather from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Saturday at the church.
George Donald Marsolek was born April 30, 1934, in Rice, Brockway Township, to the late Peter Sr. and Mary (Jaroscak) Marsolek. In 1941, at the age of seven years old he moved with his family to Portage, Ind. George completed high school in Portage, Ind. He worked in a grocery store during his time in Indiana. The family moved to Little Falls in 1963. George worked for Crestin Products while living in Little Falls. George enjoyed collecting model and electric trains, gardening (especially summer vegetable gardens), riding bicycle all over Little Falls for about nine months out of the year and woodworking. He was still trying to perfect his mother’s chicken noodle soup recipe.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Norbert (Shirley) Marsolek of California; sister, Josephine Vinot of Idaho; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Marsolek; siblings, Peter Marsolek, Jr., Ramona Chestovich, Elmer Marsolek and Ben Marsolek.
