Volleyball: Holdingford bounces back to top Staples-Motley after dropping first set

Staples-Motley narrowly took the first set, but the Holdingford volleyball team quickly regrouped to soundly defeat the host Cardinals 24-26, 25-16, 25-18, 25-13 in Tuesday’s season opener.

Senior Amanda Young set up the majority of the Huskers’ offense, distributing 24 assists, with senior Haley Huls planting 13 kills and senior Jena Volkers recording nine.

Huls and Volkers combined to dig out 25 shots, with senior Hannah Sowada and freshman Summer Storm picking up eight apiece.

Holdingford hosts Upsala, Thursday.
