Burtrum man arrested for growing marijuana

Todd County Sheriff’s Deputies seized 15 suspected marijuana plants Aug. 31, from a Burtrum home on Blaine Avenue South. The home is occupied by Walter Paul Hoppe, 57.

At the residence on an unrelated complaint and using a search warrant, the officers located evidence of a marijuana growing operation. According to the criminal complaint, they also found plant-growing equipment and drug paraphernalia.

Hoppe was arrested and felony charges are pending.  Todd County Attorney Chuck Rasmussen said as of Tuesday morning, Hoppe was out of jail.
