Cross Country: Hendrickson, Little Falls girls run away with first at WDC meet
Forty seventh annual Lucky Lindy run to be held Thursday

Senior Mattia Hendrickson clocked a time of 16:13 to blaze past the field and lead the Little Falls girls cross country team to first place at Tuesday’s Wadena-Deer Creek (WDC) meet.
Junior Mathew Massmann took eighth in 17:51 to lead the Flyers boys to second.
Following Hendrickson were a trio of Flyers in the top five, including senior Chelsea Rutz (16:39), junior Laura Moe (16:44) and sophomore Heidi Moe (16:46).
Junior Vanessa Meschke (18:07), freshman Amelia Kresha (18:39) and junior Kaitlin Geisenhof (19:10) rounded out the lineup for the first-place Flyers.
Senior John Brezinka (18:59) and junior Cameron Smith (19:09) finished in the top 20 behind Massmann.
Seniors Adam Maleski (19:15) and Brian McNamara (19:34) also scoring for the Flyers, trailed by juniors Dan Mushel (19:51) and Jacob Freitag (19:57).
Hendrickson was the top finisher for the third-place Little Falls girls at Brainerd, Aug. 31, taking third overall in 16:07.
Rutz (17:27), Laura Moe (17:30), Heidi Moe (17:35) and Kresha (18:36) also scored for the Flyers, followed by Geisenhof (19:13) and freshman Linzee Gerads (19:55).
Smith (18:17) and Massmann (18:20) were the top placers for the boys, trailed by Brezinka (19:24), Maleski (19:27), McNamara (19:34), Mushel (20:11) and freshman Jacob Massmann (20:21).
Lucky Lindy event schedule
The 47th annual Myron Ahle Lucky Lindy cross country meet will be held at the Little Falls Country Club, Thursday.
The meet will feature 21 teams from across the state competing in six different races, beginning with the Apple Run for all kids in grades fifth and under at 4 p.m.
The boys and girls junior varsity races will follow at 4:15 p.m., with the varsity and junior high events closing the meet.
