With a doubles sweep, a pair of three-set and one runaway singles victories, the Pierz girls tennis team dispatched host Wadena-Deer Creek (WDC) 6-1, Aug. 30.
Seniors Abby Bujalski and Becca Froelich teamed up for a dominating 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles for the Pioneers.
Junior Stephanie Brill and sophomore Shelbie Boser won 7-6 (0), 6-3 at No. 2 doubles and senior Morgan Waytashek and junior Emily Okroi cruised 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.
At No. 4 singles, sophomore Kelsey Moulzolf dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory, with senior Sara Schlegel (5-7, 6-2, 7-4 at No. 2 singles) and sophomore Kiah Marschel (6-0, 2-6, 7-4 at No. 3 singles) pulling out three-set victories.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala-Swanville Area (LPGE/USA) steamrolled host New York Mills 7-0, Tuesday, dropping only seven games in seven matches.
Seniors Abbey Schultz and Laura Geisenhof were flawless in a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles and freshman McKenzie Barth teamed up with junior Tori Roe for a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at No. 3 doubles.
The Thunder swept the doubles action to defeat host Parkers Prairie 5-2, Aug. 30.
Schultz and Geisenhof won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles and Barth and Roe cruised 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 doubles.

SC Cathedral 6, Little Falls 1
Little Falls lost 6-1 to visiting Pequot Lakes, Aug. 30, and 6-1 to visiting St. Cloud Cathedral, Tuesday.
Senior Alyssa Athman and eighth grader Arielle Emerson won against Pequot Lakes.
