Volleyball: Defending champion Little Falls slams Foley in Granite Ridge opener

Picking up where it left off a year ago, the Little Falls volleyball team overwhelmed host Foley 25-22, 25-14, 25-10 in Tuesday’s Granite Ridge Conference (GRC) opener.

The Flyers posted a perfect 12-0 a year ago in the inaugural season of the GRC.

Senior Noelle Kurowski and freshman Laura Fregin each had six kills, with Kurowski adding 12 service aces in the match.

Junior Tristen Zimmerman had a team-high 14 digs and junior Stephanie Wardarski distributed 11 set assists.









LPGE 3, Little Falls 2

Little Falls took the opening two sets, but visiting Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (LPGE) rallied to take the final three, Aug. 30, pulling out a 16-25, 22-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-5 win.

Kurowski blasted 17 kills and dug out 25 shots in the match to lead Little Falls.

Junior Jennifer Ronning added eight kills and senior Katie Schulte had six, with Wardarski and senior Emily Suska combining for 20 kills.

Sophomore Kendra Pohlman had a team-high four service aces and junior Kayla Retka picked up a block.
