Cross Country: Gruber, Becker lead Pierz to third at Pequot Lakes

Sophomores Maggie Gruber and Kyle Becker led the Pierz boys and girls cross country teams to third place at Thursday’s Pequot Lakes Invite.

 

Girls results

Gruber earned sixth overall in 19:03 to lead the Pioneers girls, followed in the top 20 by senior Megan Hoheisel (19:30), sophomores Arre Langer (19:56) and Dana Hennen (20:33) and eighth grader Emma Hoheisel (20:53).

 

Boys results

Becker covered the course in 18:51 to earn eighth overall individually, with senior Will Corbett taking 16th in 20:13.

Freshman Matt Janson (21:17), sophomore Daniel Tautges (22:16) and senior Mitchell Czech (23:46) capped the scoring for Pierz.
