Lorraine Ciminski, 89

Lorraine M. Ciminski, a resident of Brainerd, formerly of Little Falls, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Sept. 15, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Little Falls, with Father Kenneth Brenny officiating. Interment was in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.

Lorraine M Ciminski was born March 1, 1923, in Little Falls, to Mathias and Martha (Krystosek) Adams. She graduated from Little Falls High School and St. Cloud Business College. Lorraine married Edward Ciminski June 12, 1948, in Little Falls. She worked at the American National Bank and the Minnesota WorkForce Center. In between these employments, Lorraine was a stay-at-home mother for 26 years raising her five children. Lorraine was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Little Falls, as well as the Christian Mothers and the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed bowling, reading, bridge, summers at the family cabin on Fish Trap Lake, and frequent winters in Mesa, Ariz. Lorraine enjoyed life and the company of others, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Survived by her sons: David Ciminski (Joan) of Roseville and John Ciminski of Brainerd; daughters: Mary Elizabeth Thibodeau (James) of Henderson, Nev., Donna Burggraff (David) of Brainerd and Laurie Bonnand (George) of Livermore, Calif; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and sister, Jeanne Schnell (George) of St. Paul as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Mathias and Martha Adams; husband Edward Ciminski, three sisters Bernadine Castrodad, Dorothy Greene and Rose Gjesdahl and three brothers George, Edward and Leonard.

Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
