Norris S. Anderson, 85

Norris S. Anderson, a resident of Little Falls, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls.

Committal services were held Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls with the Rev. Damen Heitmann officiating. Burial was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Military Honors were conducted by the Little Falls VFW Post 1112.

Norris Anderson was born April 26, 1927, in Little Falls, to the late Andrew and Nellie Anderson. He grew up in Little Falls until enlisting in the Navy in 1944. Norris proudly served during World War II as a fire control man third class (FC3) on various ships in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1948. After returning to Minnesota, he attended Dunwoody Institute to become a brick layer. After working on various schools, churches, and other projects in Minnesota, Norris returned to Little Falls. He married Betty West in 1960. Norris built more than 50 houses in the area throughout the 60s, 70s, and 80s before retiring in 1989. He enjoyed many years of hunting, fishing, and visiting the casino with Betty.

Norris is survived by his loving wife, Betty; son, Jon (Lisa) Anderson of Rochester; stepdaughter, Denise (Ernie) Hegna of Royalton; stepson, Richard (Becky) Mausolf of Brainerd; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Norris was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and three sisters.
