Girls Swimming and Diving: Little Falls sweeps three events versus Albany

The Little Falls girls swimming and diving team swept the top two spots in three events, but dropped a close battle 57-45 at Albany, Thursday.

In the pool, senior Emily Stark (1:17.06) and freshman Abby Swanson (1:20.22) took the top two spots in the 100-yard breaststroke while freshman Makyla Klever (27.76) and senior Diana Kempenich (27.87) topped their foes in the 50 freestyle.

Senior Carly Atkinson (177.25) and freshman Gabby Lyter (165.3) were the top placers in diving.

Also earning runner-up finishes were sophomore Mati Gold in the 200 freestyle (2:19.09) and 500 freestyle (6:17.0), Kempenich in the 100 butterfly (1:11.95), Klever in the 100 freestyle (1:00.97), the 200 medley relay team of Klever, Stark, Kempenich and seventh grader Abby Van Heel (2:06.61), the 200 freestyle relay team of Kempenich, Stark, Gold and Klever (1:51.69) and the 400 freestyle relay team of Gold, Stark, eighth grader Savannah Slettom and Van Heel (4:22.92).
