The Little Falls girls soccer team’s offense scored as many goals as its defense allowed shots in a 2-0 shutout over visiting Rockford Area, Saturday.
With the game still scoreless midway through the second half, junior Rachelle LeBlanc deflected a corner kick from junior Katie Yorek to sophomore Marissa Virnig, who put it in the net in the 59th minute to give the Flyers a 1-0 lead.
In the 72nd minute, Rockford was unable to clear a corner kick from Yorek, who sent the ball back in to eighth grader Chelsea Moran for a game-sealing goal.
The Rockets were only able to muster two shots on goal against the Flyers defense, with eighth grader Lauren Thielman turning both away to earn the shutout.
