Girls Tennis: Pierz utilizes depth to topple Aitkin

Pierz senior Becca Froelich delivers a serve in a home match against Aitkin, Tuesday. Froelich and sophomore Shelbie Boser teamed up for a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
Aitkin won at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, but the Pierz girls tennis team swept the remaining five matches to earn a 5-2 home win, Tuesday.
In singles play, Pierz earned straight-set wins from junior Kiah Marschel at No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-3), sophomore Kelsey Moulzolf at No. 3 singles (6-1, 6-1) and junior Emily Okroi at No. 4 singles (7-6 [3], 6-0).
Senior Becca Froelich and sophomore Shelbie Boser teamed up for a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at No. 2 doubles and senior Morgan Waytashek and junior Stephanie Brill prevailed 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 doubles.
