Little Falls native swims with the sharks

Todd Conrad, a former resident of Little Falls, recently completed the 17th annual Alcatraz Invitational Swim. Along with 860 others, Conrad swam 1.5 miles in open water after having jumped from ships near Alcatraz Island. They swam to the aquatic park located on the south side of the San Francisco Bay.

The water temperature was 58 degrees with seven mile  per hour currents pulling toward the Golden Gate Bridge and strong winds from the west.

Conrad is a 1983 graduate of Little Falls Community High School and is the son of Shelia Perault Mallak of Little Falls. He currently resides in Maple Grove.
