The Holdingford girls ran away with first place at the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted (HLWW) meet, Thursday, with the Huskers boys earning second.
The Pierz girls tied for third and the Pioneers boys finished fourth.
The Holdingford girls placed five runners in the top eight, including sophomore Emily Wolter (15:44), freshman Alli Ruprecht (16:10), eighth-graders Jo Merten (16:37) and Angel Rick (16:54) and senior Kaitlin Preusser (17:32).
Sophomore Maggie Gruber crossed the line seventh in 17:26 to lead the Pierz girls, followed by senior Megan Hoheisel (17:55), sophomores Arre Langer (17:59) and Dana Hennen (18:34) and eighth-grader Emma Hoheisel (18:45).
Sophomores Abe Skwira (17:10) and Andrew Zachman (17:11) finished in the top three to pace the Holdingford boys, with junior Nick Hiltner (18:41), sophomore Jacob Thell (18:53) and freshman Marcus Rick (18:56) also scoring.
Sophomore Kyle Becker earned 10th in 18:08 to lead the Pierz boys, trailed by senior Will Corbett (19:29), freshman Matt Janson (20:35), sophomore Daniel Tautges (20:37) and seniors Elias Schomer (20:38) and Mitchell Czech (22:47).
