The Holdingford girls swimming and diving team won four events in a narrow 95-90 defeat at Minnewaska-Morris Area, Thursday.
Senior Brianna DeZurik and sophomore Gabby Langerud each won an individual event and were part of the first-place 400-yard freestyle relay team that also included eighth-grader Arianna Vasilj and freshman Maddie Christensen (4:19.5).
Langerud won the 50 freestyle (28.09), DeZurik won the 100 freestyle (1:04.93) and freshman Meghan Mokhtary took first in the 100 breaststroke (1:19.95).
Junior Jodi Middendorf scored a personal-best of 131.7 to earn second in diving.
“It is really great to see the girls’ hard work in practice pay off in the meets,” Holdingford head coach April Theis said. “It really brings their energy level up and gets them that much more intense at practice.”
