Kapsner returns to Great River Art Center

An exhibit at the Great River Arts Center in Little Falls entitled, “Down by the River,” features works by Charles Gilbert Kapsner of Little Falls.

The Great River Arts Association invites the public to the opening reception of “Down by the River,” a showing of recent paintings by Charles Gilbert Kapsner. Kapsner devoted a portion of this summer at select locations on the Mississippi River. Viewers will see a diversity of imagery from this scenic byway.

“We are delighted to have Charles exhibit again here at the art center,” said Assistant Director Michelle Miller, who noted it has been more than two years since his last show.

In addition to the paintings, recent works by Kapsner from the Veterans Educational Historic Project will be on display. Drawings and paintings from both the completed Army painting and the Navy will be included.

The opening reception is Saturday, Oct. 13, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Great River Arts Association. Music will be provided by College of St. Benedict students Annie Rogosheske and Jennifer Keller. Coborn’s Liquor of Little Falls will sponsor a wine tasting.

The Down by the River exhibit will be at the gallery from Oct. 9 – Nov. 3.

The Great River Arts Center is located at 122 S.E. First St., downtown Little Falls. Call (320) 632-0960 for information, or visit the Web site www.greatart.org.
