Volleyball: Pierz outlasts Eden Valley-Watkins, remains perfect in conference

Pierz earned a key 19-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-15, 15-13 Central Minnesota Conference (CMC) win over visiting Eden Valley-Watkins, Thursday, improving to 4-0 in the CMC.

Senior Anna Welle and junior Bridget Bednar led Pierz, with Welle recording 13 kills and 13 digs and Bednar posting 17 kills and 18 digs.

Junior Tiara Hopkins was the Pioneers’ next leading hitter with eight kills, with senior Michaela Rocheleau slamming four and senior Alyssa Boser adding three.

Senior Megan Boser contributed nine digs defensively, followed by Hopkins (8) and seniors Brook Brausen (7), Miranda Woitalla (6), Rocheleau (5) and Elizabeth Tomala (4), with Brausen also distributing 38 set assists.
