Vandals violating rights to free speech

To the Editor:

In last week’s letters to the editor there was one stating how disappointing that a church would allow a sign to be placed beside the cemetery property across from Minnesota Power. I am pretty sure, not positive, that the Knights of Columbus requested permission to place the sign there.

What is amazing to me is that there was no mention in the letter that the first sign that was there was vandalized.

Today, I noticed that a second sign that was placed there was vandalized once again. It is surprising to me that people, whoever they are, would have the immature idea that vandalism is OK, but free speech is not.

I hope that our local police can catch the vandals, and I further hope that the full force of the law would be applied to these vandals. — Frank Rebnord, Little Falls
