Girls Swimming and Diving: Little Falls rallies past Milaca in Granite Ridge showdown

Senior Diana Kempenich competes in the third leg of the Little Falls 200-yard medley relay team against visiting Milaca, Thursday. Kempenich won the 100 fly in 1:11.3 and finished second on two relays as the Flyers won 97-89.

The Little Falls girls swimming and diving team rallied from a 45-33 deficit after the 1-meter dive to take down visiting Milaca 97-89 in Thursday’s Granite Ridge Conference match-up.

Earning first-place finishes for the Flyers were seniors Diana Kempenich in the 100-yard fly (1:11.3) and Emily Stark in the 100 breaststroke (1:17.43), sophomore Mati Gold in the 500 freestyle (6:13.36), freshmen Makyla Klever in the 100 freestyle (1:01.69) and Kirsten Holtz in the 200 individual medley (2:40.57) and eighth grader Savanna Slettom in the 100 backstroke (1:15.52).
