Volleyball: LPGE rallies from a set down to upend Pierz

Pierz won the opening set, but visiting Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (LPGE) rebounded to take the final three in a 21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-18 victory, Tuesday.

Junior Bridget Bednar and senior Anna Welle combined for 22 kills, 21 digs and seven blocks to lead the Pioneers, with senior Michaela Rocheleau and junior Tiara Hopkins contributing five kills apiece.

Sophomore Jessica Hawks  added 19 set assists and 11 digs, with senior Megan Boser and Hopkins each picking up eight digs.

Pierz hosts Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in a showdown of unbeaten Central Minnesota Conference teams, Thursday.
