Alvina LeBlanc, a resident of Little Falls, passed away Oct. 7, 2012, at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 11, at Lutheran Care Center Chapel in Little Falls, with the Rev. David Sperstad officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Alvina was born Feb. 27, 1920, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to the late Arthur and Mae (Taylor) Griffith. She grew up and attended school in the Spirit Lake, area. The family later relocated to Venice, Calif. for several years and lastly they relocated to the Freedhem area. Alvina was employed at Larson Boat Works in Little Falls for many years in the upholstery department. Her greatest joy in life was going fishing with her dear friends Wayne and Henrietta Deporto. Alvina was also an avid Smear card player at the senior center in Little Falls. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always told it the way it was. Alvina also loved her many cats and enjoyed mowing and caring for her large lawn. She was a resident at Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls for the last eight years and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Little Falls.
Alvina is survived by her sister, Nellie Kliber of Little Falls; nieces, Judy (Monty) Zimmer of Little Falls and Beth (Moe) Strom of Little Falls; several great-nieces and nephews; and many other family members.
Alvina was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mae Griffith; brothers, Ernest and Ben Griffith; and sisters, Dorothy Schawartz and Besse Griffith.
