Elizabeth (Liz) Anne Vossen Simmons, a resident of Little Falls, formerly of Glendale, Ariz., was born Dec. 17, 1962, in Minneapolis and passed away Oct. 7, 2012, at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
A private memorial service was held at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Jean Megorden officiating.
Liz grew up in Brooklyn Park.
She is survived by her husband James (Chip) Simmons IV of Glendale, Ariz.; father Ronald Kallunki (Dawn) of Little Falls; mother Ethel Richman of Brooklyn Park; children, Leland Taft of Annandale, James Vossen and Josh Vossen of Rogers; brothers, LeLand Kallunki (Helen) of Minneapolis; Aaron Kallunki (Tricia) of Elk River, Lawrence Kallunki of Crystal; sister, Jennifer Peavey (David) of River Falls, Wis.; stepbrothers, Daniel Petersen (Dianna) of Cloquet, Alan (Bud) Petersen of Bismarck, N.D.; and stepsister, Gayle Urness (Jeff) of Donnybrook, N.D.; niece, Ava; granddaughter, Kayle; aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles Clark; grandmother, Gladys Clark; grandfather, Donald Lawrence and grandmother, Marian Lawrence.
The family requests memorials go to Quiet Oaks Hospice House, St. Augusta.
