Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 10, at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls,. Burial was in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Kenneth was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Little Elk Township in Todd County, to the late Carl and Mabel (Mattson) Brastad. He grew up and attended school in Columbia Heights and Minneapolis. Kenneth enlisted into the U.S. Army May 14, 1943, and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II until his honorable discharge, Dec. 16, 1945. He was united in marriage to Florence B. Eidenshink in April 1948 at St. Mary’s Parish House in Little Falls. Kenneth worked for more over 30 years at Camp Ripley as a military truck driver. Driving was Kenneth’s passion, after retiring he worked part time at Falls GM driving new cars to and from dealerships. He also was an avid deer hunter, guitar player and was an artist when it came to carving small detailed items out of wood.
Kenneth is survived by his siblings, Don Brastad and Diddie Hines, both of Little Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
