Michael A. Wiczek, 56

Michael A. Wiczek, a resident of Little Falls, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral Services were held Friday, Oct. 12, at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls with the Rev. Robert Bellin officiating. Burial was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Military Rites were conducted by the Minnesota State Honor Guard.

Michael A. Wiczek was born March 13, 1956, in Little Falls, to Jerry Wiczek and Lois (LaPlante) Price. He graduated from Little Falls High School in 1974 and attended the University of Minnesota Morris for one year before entering into the United States Navy, were he served as a medical corpsman for six years. Mike then worked as a surgical technician in several hospitals in California. He returned to Minnesota in 1991, and was employed as a carpet installer and a tree trimmer. Mike loved the outdoors and was happy when he was fishing or hunting. Mike was also very outgoing and had a ton of friends.

Mike is survived by his son, Britian Stevenson-Wiczek of California; father, Jerry (Sylvia) Wiczek of Cushing; mother, Lois (Del) Price of Maple Lake; brothers, Steve (Donna) Wiczek of Nisswa, Chuck Wiczek of Cushing, Joe (Michelle Parker) Wiczek of Little Falls, Jim (Mary) Wiczek of Little Falls, and Ben Wiczek of Park City, Utah; sisters, Debbie Rosas of Tustin, Calif., Julie (John) Witucki of Little Falls, Mary Krueger of Alexandria and Jennifer (Ben) Bertsch of Duluth; many nieces and nephews and special friend Marilyn Hill of Charleston, S.C.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Mae LaPlante, John Wiczek and Stella Wiczek-DeRosier.

Casketbearers were Josh Wiczek, Jason Wiczek, Lance Wiczek, Jake Wiczek, Brent Wiczek and Jeremy Wiczek.
