Paul Gazelka is the clear choice

To the Editor:

I’ve had the pleasure to serve with Sen. Gazelka in St. Paul these past two years. He is someone you can count on to give you a clear, honest answer. I’ll put his integrity and legislative record against his opponent’s any day.

I’ve worked side by side with him, along with our Morrison County sheriff, to pass firearm legislation to help out our local law enforcement agencies. I’ve seen him work tirelessly to have the training center at Camp Ripley included in the bonding bill. We passed legislation to help out our local schools with their Food Service Fund. He chief authored pro-life legislation, and he is a champion for pro-family values. He was the adult in the room when it came to making the difficult choices to get our state back on track.

He is endorsed by MCCL, NRA, Minnesota Farm Bureau, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, NFIB, and has been awarded “Guardian of Small Business” and “Advocate for Local School Solutions” recognition.

The same few opponents of Sen. Gazelka have been spewing negative and exaggerated information about him. That’s the only tactic they know. They know that if they put Doty’s record against Gazelka’s record, they will lose. — State Rep. Mike LeMieur, District 12B, Little Falls

If you like relinquishing representative government to the hands of ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council), an unelected cadre of billionaires that gives members like Senator Gazelka fill in your state’s name legislation, which serve the billionaire’s interests at the expense of everyone else he is the clear choice. The Stand Your Ground Laws are Alec based initiatives and have been hugely profitable for gun manufacturers. The down side is all those folks buying guns rooted in fear from NRA advertising that don’t have a lick of gun safety sense. There are literally tens of thousands of dead kids because of improper and unsafe gun storage.

Sheepherder- guns do not kill people.. maybe you have never figured that out so I figured I would point that out to you. We should be able to defend ourselves if someone breaks into our house and threatens my family. The second amendment is a right that shall not be infringed especially by those who are driven by no common sense and emotional logic.
