A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Oct. 12, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton with Father Laurn Virnig officiating. The burial was in the parish cemetery.
Raymond A. Burggraff was born Dec. 3, 1930, to the late Edward Sr. and Theresa (Jansky) Burggraff. He was united in marriage to Bernadine Kalis, Aug. 31, 1953, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton. The couple made their home on the Burggraff family farm where Raymond farmed until he retired in 2008. In 2008, Raymond moved into Royalton where he resided until his death. He also drove milk truck for seven years for the Royalton Creamery. Raymond enjoyed squirrel hunting, shaking dice, playing cards, polka and waltz music and dancing. He treasured his time spent with family and friends. He was a director of the Royalton Cooperative Shipping Association for 18 years. Raymond was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered by his children as a kind, loving and caring man.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Roger (Patty) Burggraff of Royalton, Shirley (Dan) Schreifels of Waite Park, Don (Carrie) Burggraff of Sartell and Jeanne (Rick) Mehrwerth of Sauk Rapids; siblings, Edward (Alice) Burggraff of Little Falls, Rita Mugg of Sauk Rapids, Alma (Robert) Popp of Rice and Elaine (Benno) Gall of St. Cloud; son-in-law, Dean Boese of Kimball; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Leona Borg and Theresa Burggraff, all of Little Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Theresa (Jansky) Burggraff; wife, Bernadine, Nov. 21, 1997; daughter, Karen Boese Aug. 7, 2012; an infant son; siblings, Lorraine Schlichting, Ralph Burggraff, Arnold Burggraff and Ernest Burggraff.
