Volleyball: BBE clips Pierz in match-up of CMC unbeatens

After visiting Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (BBE) took a quick two-set lead in a match-up of the final two unbeaten teams in the Central Minnesota Conference (CMC), Pierz threatened to take the third set, Thursday.

But the 10th-ranked Jaguars held off the Pioneers to win the match 25-15, 25-14, 25-23 and clinch the CMC championship.

Pierz had six players with at least three kills on offense, including junior Bridget Bednar (7), seniors Anna Welle (6) and Kailee Monson (4), junior Tiara Hopkins (4) and seniors Alyssa Boser (3) and Michaela Rocheleau (3).

Sophomore Jessica Hawks and senior Brook Brausen combined for 24 set assists, and Hopkins and senior Megan Boser each posted nine digs.
