Football: Little Falls stampedes Milaca with 54 first-half points in rout

A game after surrendering 44 first-half points, the Little Falls football team lit up visiting Milaca’s defense for 54 in the opening two quarters en route to a 54-36 win, Wednesday.

The fireworks started early, with the Flyers needing just three plays to find the end zone on a 13-yard touchdown run by junior Jalen Wuchko on their opening possession.

Senior Austin Bjorge then stepped in front of a pass and returned the interception 26 yards for a score before a fumble recovery led to Wuchko’s second rushing touchdown of the night.

Another turnover led to Wuchko’s third touchdown of the opening quarter, giving Little Falls a 27-0 lead less than five minutes into the game.

The frenetic scoring pace continued into the second quarter.

When the dust settled on the first half, Wuchko had three more touchdown runs of 70, 31 and 20 yards and senior Jordan Petrone had added a touchdown from one yard away to give the Flyers a 54-22 advantage.

Wuchko amassed an astounding 331 yards on the ground on 14 carries.

Senior Spencer Fenske completed all five of his passes for 71 yards, with sophomores Jeremy Klein and John Lukasavitz each making two receptions.

Junior Trysten Ross recorded six tackles, junior Derek McMahan and sophomore Bryce Zawatzke added four apiece and sophomore Brighton Goodrich recovered two fumbles and picked off a pass.
