To the Editor:
The upcoming Nov. 6 election is probably one of the most important elections in many years. We need to elect conservative, pro-life candidates.
Our country is deeply in debt, yet Barack Obama still insists on spending taxpayer money to fund abortions and abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood. The House passed The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (H.R. 3) that would codify the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funding of abortion. More than 1 million Americans are alive today because of the Hyde Amendment. If H.R. 3 should reach President Obama, he would veto it.
His opponent, Mitt Romney has said that he supports the Hyde Amendment, which broadly bars the use of federal funds for abortion. He supports H.R. 3.
Obama strongly favors abortion and using taxpayer funds to support it. He would also appoint judges to the U.S. Supreme Court who would vote to uphold the Roe vs. Wade decision.
Romney is pro-life and against using taxpayer funds to support abortion. He would only appoint Supreme Court judges who would adhere to the Constitution and the laws as they are written; judges who would vote to overturn Roe vs. Wade.
Vote Mitt Romney for president. — Margaret Johnson, Little Falls
