The Oberton family was honored by the Morrison County Board Tuesday, after being named Morrison County’s Farm Family of the Year. Gary and Susan Oberton and their sons Will and Jim and their families operate Oberton Honey Farm near Randall. They tend 2,500 bee colonies, which produced 305 tons of honey in 2012 from 85 different locations in Morrison, Todd, Stearns and Cass counties. In addition, their bees are trucked to California for the winter, where they pollinate the almond trees.
