SherriLynn’s and Sunflower Boutique opens on Main Street in Pierz

Pierz’s Main Street is a little fuller with the opening of SherriLynn’s and Sunflower Boutique Wednesday.

SherriLynn’s and Sunflower Boutique is the newest business on Main Street in Pierz. While SherriLynn Hoheisel has not displayed her goods in her own store in the past, she has been in business for 13 years. New to her shop are products grown or produced in Minnesota. Hoheisel, left, shows off some of her lotion with her daughter, Angie, who works alongside her mother.

SherriLynn Hoheisel, the proprietor, has been selling her SherriLynn products for approximately 13 years. She started with producing candles and has expanded her line to include lip balms, lotions and soaps. She also carries a Minnesota line of gourmet foods such as breads, dips, soups and brownies.

The new shop is located at 109 South Main St., across from the Thrifty White Drug Store in Pierz.

“All my products have ingredients which are Minnesota made or grown,” she said. “All my beeswax comes from Marquette Farms in Little Falls and my lotions contain sunflower oil from Smudes in Pierz.”

Up until Wednesday, Hoheisel has sold her products from her home to other shops around the state. Now she also has a store front so her customers may come right to her.

Something new alongside SherriLynn’s is the Sunflower Boutique, a unique gift shop with a rustic look.

“I am selling all my SherriLynn products here, but also so much more,” she said. “There are kitchen textiles, seasonal home decor and novelty items and a line of pictures with homemade frames from Avon.”

Hoheisel said that everything she sells contains something from Minnesota or is created right here.

“We support Minnesota farmers and agriculture,” she said.

One of the Boutique’s contributors is SherriLynn’s mother, Lynn Brecht of Moose Lake. She does the quilting for the shop along with making stain glass window decor and bowls.

New products coming in soon will include hair accessories, candies made in Afton, Jams by Jan from Grand Marais and aroma bead sachets made by her daughter Angie.

“The inventory at SherriLynn’s will constantly be changing, with the seasons,” Hoheisel said.

Hoheisel was raised in the Twin Cities and graduated from Anoka High School. She received her degree in nursing from Winona State and her degree in business from the University of Minnesota. She moved to the Pierz area when she married Rick Hoheisel and lives on the Hoheisel family farm.

SherriLynn’s will be open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. – noon.

Hoheisel may be reached at (320) 630-7802.
