Cross Country: Hendrickson places 16th to lead Little Falls at Section 8AA meet

Senior Mattia Hendrickson took 16th place in Thursday’s Section 8AA meet at Bemidji to cap her standout Little Falls cross country career.

Hendrickson completed the race in 15:33.4 to lead the Flyers girls to eighth place.

Senior Chelsea Rutz (16:38.1), freshman Amelia Kresha (16:43.6) and eighth-grader Kendal Hendrickson (16:45.9) each turned in sub-17-minute performances, followed by junior Laura Moe (17:01.3), seventh-grader Anna McNamara (17:13.3) and sophomore Heidi Moe (17:39.9).

The Little Falls boys also took eighth place, guided by junior Mathew Massmann in 27th place (17:41.9) and eighth-grader Tyler Moore in 34th (17:48.2).

Rounding out the lineup for the Flyers were juniors Cameron Smith (18:04.2) and Sebastian Sowada (18:21.3), seniors Brian McNamara (18:30.2) and John Brezinka (18:44.0) and junior Daniel Mushel (18:46.4).

Seniors on this year’s girls team, which won the Granite Ridge Conference championship, included Rutz, Mattia Hendrickson and Samantha Gottwalt.

Seniors on this year’s boys team included Adam Maleski, McNamara, Brezinka, Travis Spillum and Tyler Claseman.
