Cross Country: Holdingford girls place 10th, Royalton’s Carlson earns 37th at state meet

The Holdingford girls cross country team raced to a 10th-place finish in the Class A state meet at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Saturday.
Freshman Alli Ruprecht paced the Huskers girls with a 43rd-place performance in 15:38.6, followed closely by sophomore Emily Wolter in 54th place in 15:43.4.
Eighth-graders Jo Merten (15:48.7) and Angel Rick (16:31.7), junior Abby Mokhtary (17:08.8), senior Kaitlin Preusser (17:30.0) and eighth-grader Amanda Douvier (18:28.8) also competed for Holdingford.
Royalton sophomore Zach Carlson finished 37th overall in the Class A boys race with a time of 16:47.4.
Holdingford sophomores Abe Skwira and Andrew Zachman also qualified for the Class A boys field, with Skwira taking 58th in 17:02.4 and Zachman earning 78th in 17:14.6.
Preusser and Brittany Piwowar were the lone seniors on this year’s Holdingford girls team.
