Kyle Gapinski named to all-state soccer team

Little Falls senior Kyle Gapinski was named to the Class A all-state honorable mention boys soccer team at the Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association banquet at the St. Paul River Centre, Oct. 21. Gapinski was a four-year starter on defense for the Flyers.

Little Falls senior Kyle Gapinski was recently named to the 2012 Class A all-state honorable mention boys soccer team at the nominees banquet at the St. Paul River Centre, Oct. 21.

The award and banquet was sponsored by the Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Gapinski served as a four-year starter on defense for the Flyers.

 

Little Falls soccer banquet

The Little Falls boys soccer team also recently held its awards banquet.

The Flyers finished with a record of 6-9-1, including a 5-3 Granite Ridge Conference (GRC) record to finish tied for second behind state entrant St. Cloud Cathedral.

Gapinski was also named to the All-GRC team, along with junior Tim Infinger and sophomore Thomas Bell.

Seniors Nathan Masog and Taylor Kottschade and junior Jake Loukinen were named to the All-GRC honorable mention team.

Seniors Garrett Horejsi, Canyon Hoheisel, Joe Kornbaum and Gapinski earned scholar athlete awards with grade-point averages of 3.75 or higher.

Receiving team awards were Gapinski (most valuable player, best defensive player, hustle), Infinger (best offensive player, hustle) and Kottschade and Horejsi (most improved).
