Marcellus W. Klier, 81

Marcellus W. Klier, a resident of Little Falls,  passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls.

Private funeral services were held privately at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls with Father Nicholas Landsberger officiating. Burial took place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.

Marcellus was born March 10, 1931, in Park Rapids,  to the late William and Mary (Theisen) Klier. He enlisted into the U.S. Army, July 26, 1949, and was honorably discharged, July 26, 1950. After his honorable discharge Marcellus enrolled in the Army Reserves and the Minnesota National Guard. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Zilka April 30, 1960, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Two Inlets. Marcellus enjoyed woodworking and he was an avid bowler. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls,  American Legion Post #46, and Knights of Columbus.

Marcellus is survived by wife of 52 years, Dorothy Klier of Little Falls; daughter, Rose (Kevin) Pitcher of Bloomington; grandchildren, David, Brian and Mary Pitcher; sister, Sr. Flora Klier OSB of Crookston.

Marcellus was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Klier; and sisters, Mathilda and Delores.
