Morrison County Record All-Area Boys Cross Country Team
Zach Carlson, sophomore, Royalton
Carlson, the Morrison Country Record Boys Runner of the Year, stepped into the No. 1 spot for a young Royalton team, earning second place in the Central Minnesota Conference and a trip to the state meet. Carlson qualified for state by placing fourth in the Section 6A meet in 17:03, then topped that marked by 16 seconds at state to place 37th overall in Class A.
Tremayne Collins, sophomore Royalton
Collins teamed up with Carlson to pace Royalton throughout the season, helping lead the Royals to a fourth-place finish in the Central Minnesota Conference by placing fifth overall in 17:37.6. He finished on the doorstep of the state meet in the Section 6A race, placing 14th in 17:50.
Mathew Massmann, junior, Little Falls
Massmann ran with the opportunity to take over the No. 1 spot for Little Falls this fall, culminating in All-Granite Ridge Conference honors with a 12th-place performance in 17:38.34. He added a 27th-place effort in 17:41.9 in the Section 8AA meet.
Abe Skwira, sophomore, Holdingford
Skwira formed a formidable one-two duo with Zachman, earning sixth place at the Central Minnesota Conference (17:43.2) and Section 6A (17:27) meets. He then went on to top that time at state, crossing the line 58th in 17:02.4.
Andrew Zachman, sophomore, Holdingford
Zachman traded off turns leading the Huskers with Skwira this season, with both runners consistently finishing close together near the front of the pack. Zachman earned fourth place in the Central Minnesota Conference (17:28.5) and advanced to the state meet, where he took 78th in 17:14.6.
