Mattia Hendrickson, senior, Little Falls
Hendrickson, the Morrison Country Record Girls Runner of the Year, led Little Falls to its first ever Granite Ridge Conference championship this fall, knocking off defending state champion St. Cloud Cathedral. Hendrickson was the individual runner-up at the meet and was the Flyers’ top finisher throughout the season.
Emily Wolter, sophomore, Holdingford
Wolter was a key part in the Huskers’ leading trio that guided Holdingford to its second consecutive Section 6A championship and trip to the state meet this season. Wolter earned eighth at sections (15:48), then placed 54th overall at state in 15:43.4.
Alli Ruprecht, freshman, Holdingford
After earning Central Minnesota Conference runner-up honors for the second year in a row, Ruprecht guided Holdingford to the Section 6A championship with a third-place individual finish in 15:23, then finished as Holdingford’s top runner at the state meet in 15:38.6 to lead the Huskers to 10th place in Class A.
Jo Merten, eighth-grader, Holdingford
Merten, already a top contributor for Holdingford, solidified her standing as one of the top runners in the area by claiming the Central Minnesota Conference individual title with a time of 15:59.8. She then helped the Huskers capture their second Section 6A title in a row, earning seventh individually in 15:40.
Chelsea Rutz, senior, Little Falls
Rutz was a consistently high placer along with Hendrickson throughout the fall, highlighted by earning individual All-Granite Ridge Conference honors with a sixth-place in 16:27.46, helping lead Little Falls to its first Granite Ridge Conference title in school history.
