Hanneken Insurance, owned by Reiny and Ramona Hanneken, has moved into its new location. The official opening was Oct. 29.

Hanneken Insurance moved to its new location at 501 E. Broadway Ave. Pictured are front row (from left): Cory Andrea, Lucy Monson and Jenny Nieken. Back row: Office Manager Lois Metcalf, Reiny Hanneken and Ramona Hanneken.

“The opportunity to purchase this great location came up,” said Reiny. “We are highly visible now and it’s a great building.”

The new office, at 501 East Broadway, north of Zoomski’s in Little Falls, has a more spacious layout than the previous location in the Victor Mall building.

Hanneken Insurance began its history in 1983, and while the company has made several moves, it has always been on East Broadway Avenue. The company started at 24 E. Broadway, across from Pete and Joy’s Bakery. In 1988, the office moved to the Blaine Printing Building where Wiczek’s Floors and More is currently located.

Hanneken was there for four years before moving to the Victor Mall in 1992. The company sold insurance from there for 20 years, until this most recent move.

Hanneken Insurance also has an office in Brainerd, run by Reiny and Ramona’s son Matt along with three full-time employees.

“Our son Chris also has his own insurance agency in Pine River,” said Reiny.

In the Little Falls office, the Hannekens have four full-time employees, besides themselves. Office Manager Lois Metcalf has been with the company for 25 years; Lucy Monson has worked at Hanneken Insurance for 14 years; Cory Andrea has been part of the company for six years and Jenny Nieken has worked there for six months.

“Our son Eric also helps with sales and service within the agency,” said Reiny.

Hanneken Insurance offers farm, business and home insurance, auto, health, crop, Medicare supplements and life insurance.

Both Reiny and Ramona grew up in Morrison County, Reiny in Buckman and Ramona in Harding. They have six children, 22 grandchildren and one more on the way.

“We are lucky, the furthest our children live from us is Duluth,” said Reiny.

When not working, the Hannekens enjoy their home and their family, travel, snowmobiling and hunting.
