Rita J. Paulsen, 90

Rita J. Paulsen, a resident of Pierz,  passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at the Harmony House in Pierz.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Nov. 19, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, with the Rev. Ken Popp officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.

Rita Josephine Poser was born April 3, 1922, in Agram Township, Morrison County, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Loidolt) Poser. She attended St. Joseph’s School in Pierz. On Sept. 4, 1948, she was united in marriage to Raymond J. “Ray” Paulsen. The couple made their home on a farm in Buh Township. Following Ray’s death in 1987, Rita moved to Pierz. Rita worked at Munsingwear in Little Falls and The Rosie Riveter in Spokane, Wash. Her hobbies included embroidering, quilting, gardening, reading, traveling, playing cards and playing bingo. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, the Christian Mothers and the Pierz American Legion Auxiliary.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Roger Paulsen of Little Falls, Lorna (Robert) Marvin of East Bethel, Jolene (John) Gross of Andover and Raymond (Carrie) Paulsen, Jr. of Lastrup; four grandchildren, Jeana Marvin, Joe Marvin, John Paulsen and Sara Paulsen; and one great-grandchild Anna; and sister, Angeline Poser of Pierz.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond J. Paulsen, Sr. (April 14, 1987); son, Richard Paulsen and siblings, Leo, Edward, Phillip, Clem, Victor Poser, Ida Graves and Stella Rauch.
