Junior Hockey: Third-period rallies doom Flying Aces

The Twin City Steel tallied five third-period goals to earn a 7-6 come-from-behind win over the host Minnesota Flying Aces junior hockey team, Nov. 17, as the Aces dropped three games over the weekend.
Twin City Steel 7, Aces 6
Payton Trammel scored twice in the first two periods to help Minnesota build a 3-2 lead heading into the third, before the Steel rallied.
Chase Myers-Beck added a pair of goals in the third, with Jared Sprink and Brett Sorem also scoring.
Alexandria 6, Aces 2
The weekend started with another opposing third-period outburst at Alexandria, Nov. 16, as the Blizzard broke a 2-2 deadlock by scoring four goals in the third in a 6-2 win.
Patrick Kegley and Sprink recorded goals for the Flying Aces.
Granite City 7, Aces 2
The schedule didn’t get any easier Nov. 18, as the Flying Aces matched up against defending league champion Granite City at home.
Trammel trimmed an early 2-0 deficit to one late in the first and Myers-Beck found the back of the net in the second, but Granite City slowly pulled away for a 7-2 victory.
