Senior Marissa Evans highlights a trio of returning starters for the Swanville girls basketball team after averaging nearly 20 points and 10 rebounds per game a year ago.
The Bulldogs also bring back the returning backcourt starting tandem of seniors Tiffany Barthel and Abbey Schultz, while also graduating a pair of key starters in Molly Jordan and Lexi Loven.
Looking to step in and fill those roles as well as contribute off the bench are seniors Rachel Muhlenkamp (guard) and Chloee Larson (post), junior Nikki Primus (post) and sophomores Danica Hanson (guard) and Steph Koetter (forward).
Seniors on this year’s team include Evans, Schultz, Barthel, Muhlenkamp and Larson.
“If we can continue working hard, play solid defense and rebound, we should be able to be competitive in most games,” Swanville head coach Aaron Gapinski said. “I think our team speed is a positive for us and we have a good mixture of senior leadership and some good talent in the underclassmen.”
Swanville was scheduled to open the season at home against Pillager, Thursday.
