Jodi Marie Winkelman, 24, Royalton, has been charged with one felony count of fifth degree possession of drugs and one gross misdemeanor count of child endangerment by Morrison County Attorney Brian Middendorf and his staff.
On Nov. 23, the Royalton Police received a call about a dispute over a child and that drugs had been found in the residence.
An officer responded and spoke with the father of the 14-month-old child who was concerned for the child’s safety. The father showed the officer a pipe and substance believed to be methamphetamine, stating he found the items in a coat pocket belonging to Winkelman. The substance later tested positive for methamphetamine, weighing 0.3 grams.
The officer spoke to Winkelman who allegedly said she received the drugs from an individual identified as “Butterbean.”
According to the criminal complaint, Winkelman said she used methamphetamine about two days prior to being contacted. At that time, Winkelman was arrested.
If convicted, Winkelman faces a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine.
