Stephia (Stephanie) G. Schubert, 89

Stephia (Stephanie) G. Schubert a resident of Pierz, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at the Pierz Villa.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz with Greg Spofford officiating. Burial was in the Polish National Catholic Cemetery near Harding.

Stephie was born April 14, 1923, to Walter Sr. and Josephine (Novak) Piasecki on the family farm in Buh Township. She was united in marriage to Edward Schubert, Oct. 23, 1946. Stephie and Ed farmed in Platte Township until they retired and moved to Pierz in 1995. Stephanie loved to bake and tend to her flower and vegetable gardens. She worked at Ed’s side on the farm. She loved setting puzzles, reading mystery novels, and playing cards and shaking dice with her friends. She was an independent woman with a wicked sense of humor. She enjoyed watching sporting events on television and listening to polka and country western music.

Stephanie is survived by a brother, Leo (Millie) Piasecki and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph; husband, Ed; brothers, Casimir, Stanley, Walter and Julius; sisters, Frances Waytashek and Helen Szlagowski.

Pallbearers were Mathew Piasecki, Anne Piasecki, Ken Piasecki, Rocky Boser, Rhonda Litke and Mike Waytashek.
