The Royalton-Upsala wrestling team only lost two wrestlers to graduation last season, but one departed as the second-winningest wrestler in program history.

Andy Poster, who placed sixth at the state tournament and finished with 122 career wins, and Austin Hackett graduate from last year’s squad.

Leading the pack of returners for the Royals are senior Cory Wensmann and junior Mitch Lange, who have five combined individual trips to state between them in their careers.

Senior Tyler Hegna, juniors Matt Neu and Shawn Urbanski, sophomores Joe Jensen and Brady Moulzolf, freshman Brad Kroll and eighth-grader Ty Held return with varsity experience for Royalton-Upsala.

Also looking to compete for varsity action are senior Jack Fulford, juniors Nate Scofield and Matt Presler, sophomore Trent Cimenski and eighth-grader Michael Petron.

Seniors on this year’s team are Hegna, Wensmann and Fulford.

Royalton-Upsala was scheduled to open the season at Foley, Friday.
