Little Falls senior goaltender Michael Stumpf makes a kick save in the final minute of Tuesday’s home game against Alexandria, preserving the Flyers’ one-goal lead before an empty-net goal provided the final score in a 3-1 victory. Stumpf made 31 saves on the night as the Flyers improved to 5-0.

Little Falls dispatched Section 6A foe Alexandria 3-1 at home, Tuesday, to improve to 5-0 on the season.

The Cardinals struck first in the contest, scoring 10:40 into the game to take a 1-0 edge into the first intermission.

The Flyers didn’t waste much time evening things up in the second, though, as senior Ben Newman capitalized on a power-play opportunity 3:33 in to knot the score at 1-1.

Senior Taylor Drager then put Little Falls ahead 2-1 six minutes later off of an assist by senior Matt Stumpf, a lead that would hold until senior Luke Majerle buried an empty-net goal with two seconds remaining in the third period.

Senior Michael Stumpf stopped 31 shots in net.
